Alan Neaves with Captain

Many readers will be sad to hear of the death of Alan Neaves' grey Shire horse, Captain at the age of 27. Captain was a familiar and well-loved sight for many years in the village, pulling Alan’s coal cart on the delivery round for Neaves Coal. The old horse finally went into happy retirement at his High Street home in November 1994, sharing his paddock and stable yard with young Sinbad, Samantha’s pony. Our sympathies go out to the Neaves  family who trained and worked with him for so long.

Nice one, Pat. Captain certainly was an Orwell resident, so he qualifies for inclusion. Can you get his nice feathery feet into the photo?
