ORWELL VILLAGE HALL

Facilities and Booking Arrangements.

The Village Hall is situated in the High Street, and consists of a large hall with a stage, a kitchen and a committee room.  There are toilet facilities in the entrance hall, refurbished to a high standard in 2016 to include excellent facilities for disabled users, and at the rear of the committee room.  The hall is regularly used by a variety of village societies, together with aerobics and dance groups and the local drama group.  Click on the link below to see details of hiring costs.

Anyone wishing to hire the hall, should contact David Titchmarsh, who is the bookings officer.  His number is 01223 207437.  Each organisation using the hall on a regular basis is issued with a key.  Anyone wishing to access the hall when it is not in use, should contact Joan Stammers at 43, High Street, or ring 01223 207643.

The hall is run by a Management Committee, including represenratives of the Parish Council, and representatives from the various groups in the village. The hall is a registered charity, and the committee makes an Annual Return to the Charity Commissioners.  This hall belongs to the village of Orwell, and the committee urges everyone in the parish to use the hall for group use and for entertainment and private functions too.

The committee is grateful for the support of the Parish Council in helping to keep the hall in good repair.

For the history and photographs of the Village Hall go to the  'Places' Category in 'Orwell Past'.
