Our stated aim is ‘to provide an enjoyable opportunity for people to sing a wide repertoire of music, both secular and non-secular’.

We are a very friendly group and meet on Monday evenings in the Methodist Schoolroom in Orwell during school term times. Our members come not only from Orwell and other surrounding villages but also from Cambridge and Royston. At the moment the choir consists of 11 sopranos, 10 altos, 4 basses and 7 tenors. You do not need to be able to read music (as long as you can sing!) and we do not audition new members.

We put on a Christmas Concert in December and a Summer Concert in late June. These include a wide range of music of various styles, a bit of audience participation, fun items and songs from the shows and take place in Orwell Village Hall.

The Methodist Schoolroom where we meet is next to the Methodist Church in Town Green Road, Orwell. The hall is open from 7.15pm and we start singing at 7.30pm. We have a coffee break at about 9.00pm and finish at 9.30pm.  Do come along and see if you would like to join us.

Our concert of Seasonal Words and Music in our parish church on March 25th with our new inspiring young musical director, Calum Zukert, was a great success and we are now preparing for our Summer Concert on  July 13th.
