HELP THE HARE & HOUNDS
A Harlton Village project to purchase and re-open Harlton's only pub, often visited by Orwell residents
This project has been successful and the Hare & Hounds is now a community-owned pub. However, following government guidelines announced by the Prime Minister on Friday, the pub has now closed for a temporary period.
A few weeks ago, before the full implications of the Coronavirus became clear, the pub tenants, Andy and Richard, had asked if they could conclude their three-year tenancy early. The management committee has agreed to seek a new tenant to take over as soon as possible, and will be advertising on findmypub.com starting this week. This is not the best time to be seeking a new tenant, with so much uncertainty regarding future pub opening rules and pub attendance, so the committee has decided to offer the tenancy at a considerably discounted rent. Their main objective is to ensure that the pub reopens as soon as it is safe and legal to do so.
