FOSAC was created in 2001 as a registered charity, its aim being 'to preserve, repair, improve, beautify, insure and assist in the maintenance of the fabric of the Parish Church of St Andrews in the parish of Orwell in the Diocese of Ely'.

Membership of the Friends is open to all who are interested in furthering the work of the Friends and who have paid the annual subscription. All subscriptions and donations can be gift-aided. Please contact the Treasurer, Val Rees, on 01223 207585.

Funds are raised by holding various events each year, and projects are suggested by the Parochial Church Council. The last major project requiring our help was the belltower and church clock restoration, and in 2014 we were able to hand over £17,000 towards this.

2015 fundraising events included running two tearooms at the monthly Pannier Market, providing cream teas at the Open Gardens in June, and 'Rock the Country' which was a night of rock 'n roll and country music in July. All three events were well attended and raised a great profit for FOSAC.
